FRAMING INFORMATION

FRAMING STYLES

PAPER PRINTS

All of our Paper Prints range come trimmed to size, and ready to hang. Frames are not included, although our prints are designed to fit Ikea frame sizes. We recommend the Ikea Stromby (black) or Ribba (white) frames. Alternatively, your print can be framed to your liking by your custom framer, or even displayed unframed. The paper prints are delivered to you flat or rolled in a tube, ready to hang or present as a gift.

STRETCHED CANVAS

The Stretched Canvas Option for our canvas prints range, indicates the artwork comes stretched but unframed. The depth of the timber is 40mm with a neatly bevelled edge to protect the canvas edge. The artwork image is extended around the sides of the timber mount so that the image is still visible when viewed from the side for a completely finished look.

STRETCHED CANVAS FRAMED

The Stretched Canvas Framed Option comes stretched then framed with a Shadow Frame. The shadow frame sits neatly flush with the canvas, leaving a small gap of up to 1cm between the canvas and the frame for a polished contemporary look. The depth of the finished piece is 55mm. When viewed from the side the frame is clearly visible, hiding the sides of the canvas behind it.

The frame itself comes in a choice of three colours:

  • White
  • Timber (A light timber most closely resembling beech timber)
  • Black

    GALLERY FINISH

All our canvas artworks come ready to hang with a gallery finish on the reverse of the canvas. A gallery finish is the polished finish expected on the back of fine art gallery artworks. Excess canvas at the back of the frame is trimmed and staples are neatly covered with tape to protect your walls from any possible effects of the staples against the wall. The cord is strong and is screwed firmly into place for strength and durability.

    IMAGE SIZE VERSUS ASSEMBLED SIZE

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY ASSEMBLED SIZE?

When purchasing an artwork from The March Collective the dimensions given are those for the size of the artwork image itself. Once the artwork is framed, the finished size will in most cases be larger. It is important to view the Assembled Size before making your purchase to ensure the artwork fits onto your chosen wall, accommodating the frame around the edge. The diagrams below demonstrate the difference between Image Size and Assembled Size for each of the Framing Options.

To view the Assembled Sizes for your chosen artwork, please select the Framing Options tab when you have your selected product up on-screen.

    CANVAS, PAPER AND INKS

    PAPER

Our Paper Prints range comes printed on an especially bright white premium quality fine art paper made of 100% cotton. It is acid-free with very high water resistance.

    CANVAS

All canvas options except the very large artworks over 110cm in both width and height, are printed on a bright white, premium Polyester/Cotton blend canvas which provides greater dimension stability. It is a certified archival grade, genuine fine art canvas with very high water resisitance, and extremely high humidity and age-resistance, offering a life expectancy of at least 30 years.

These canvases are then heatseal laminated, which guards the artwork against fingermarks, UV light, smudges, and abrasion. It also protects against moisture and prevents image fade. Heatseal laminating also prevents the ink from cracking at the edges when it is stretched.

    INKS

For all but the very large artworks, we use 100% Canon ink, producing dramatically enhanced and vivid colour. The inks have the highest possible fade resistance, even in direct sunlight.
